2.6 kilometres.

I know a boy. And while I'm sure he gets up to a lot of mischief - in fact I can probably bank on it given early morning text message replies agreeing to red wine - there is something about him which makes the world seem a simpler, calmer, stunningly holistic place. He has an aura of calm that in his sexy gruff and unkept and windswept exterior is both curious and inviting and exciting and nerve rendering bad but delicious, all at the same time.

These "The Sartorialist" shots remind me of him and his favourable effects. Equal parts unique in their simplicity - the casual cool and calm of someone who know themselves, and the sly smile of knowing you more than you do you.

Same said boy taught me without even knowing the impact that simple tones say in what you wear. Love that these shoes remind me of that lesson. Retro styling, these Jeffrey Campbell Mary Roks in nude are amazing. (RRP $120)

Winter Bliss

It might be cold out, but the sun is shining. Always shining. You just need to feel and let the stunning warmth of happiness wash over you. They say there is a silver lining to every cloud. Maybe rays in every day. And the sun never sets when there is music that reminds me of December...

run rabbit

My friend Lynne is the Nanny, to the Mother I want to be.

Dinner

Follows

Can't get enough of red and fawny greens together at the moment. It's a colour crash and velvety fusion that keeps taking my breath away. It might be the natural mixed in with some intense, or spotlights to the muted but I just love it. And I also love the Chemicals Brothers new album "Further". Todays little Fridayspiration.

lay back

At 8am this morning, grey was the buzz colour of the day. And while normally that would excite me, when it's the colour of the sky, and the haze of the morning, it definitely does not. And then, in an instant, it lifted. A simple twist of fate that changed the colour from marle to the coolest seaside blue, to the warmest smokey aqua, through to a vibrant turquoise. Almost like the Urezkoenea House by Peña Ganchegui y Asociados - a grey, stoic structure set on a treeless, north facing plot that runs parallel and overlooks the crystal-dream-like waters of Getaria in northern Spain.

Suno to the loo my darling

Subtlety. Not one of my favourite words. And not really a word referenced by Suno (242 West 38th Street, New York, NY 10018-5804, United States, P: (212) 354-1534) either. Founded in 2008, Suno designer is part screenwriter too, and Mr Max Osterweis loves a smash up riot of colour and print.

Original printed pieces lend themselves to their fabrics beautiful storied provinces - vintage "kangas" or sarong-like printed cotton, traditionally worn in Africa. Deeper still is a political context, but the exterior sentiment is what draws you in.

Living in America

Once upon a time, in a Malibu oasis, Thornton Abell designed a studio and residence of artist Rico Lebrun (an Italian born painter and sculpture, responsible for impressive exhibitions at the Guggenheim and Bambi, in Disney's feature film). A central atrium, a heart, tucked deep inside, with the rest of the space pin-wheeling off it, makes up the basis of this house - a subtle separating process. These exaggerated proportions have since been redeveloped by Space International from the original design, opened up with extensive use of skylights to contrast against the Brazilian walnut and pearwood cabinets.

terre solstice

The sun stands still. The annual moment that signifies both the end and the beginning. The seasonal full circle. Terry caught it over the Hudson River. Ironic really given that NYC seems the place to be. A cosmic catalyst perhaps? A moment of vision? I wish but somehow I think not.

He also captured Jesus on Sunset Blvd in June. Interesting take on the world, dear Terry...

HIT: Ellie Goulding - Under The Sheets (Chiddy Bang Remix)

Rainy day? What else better to do than little to the silk sounds of Ellie Goulding. Part Lykke Li, part Elly Jackson, her voice is so of the moment. Big snaps to Nathan and Dan for the clue in on this.
This "Under the Sheets" remix is by far perfect for a 2pm white-collar lull that comes with the drudgery of office work. Chitty Bang keep the 10pm body roll real for the afternoon. And to bring it back Ellie's "Sweet Disposition" could almost rival an organic Sia's "Breath Me"

Star Wears

I had a friend more that slightly obsessed with all things Nike. And Star Wars. That friend then became obsessed with all things wife but because we used to trade so many intergalactic tres cool things, my radar is still a bit "on" for the galaxy.

I have no idea who did these, but so much credit to them. Of course, I naturally fall into the LOVE category of V&R but Darth Vader in Band of Outsiders is totally etch!

Le'llo

Ikea is the "it" place for crafty cut out ice cube trays. They bring out new ones for each festive season, as well as their standard hearts, stars and the like. I love that Lego has bitten the bullet and are doing their own version - little Lego men floating in your Pimms is too choosy! And if you're going the whole hog and entertaining a few, try whipping the Lego Salt and Pepper grinders out as something different. Those little things always please, and make an interesting convo starter when things get awkward. Available online for $9.99 AUD and $7.99 AUD respectively.

Att(aboy)

I am so in love with Mo's little friend Atticus. I love that at such a young age, he is such a free, kindred little spirit, living to the beat of his own drum with his best friend Cassius to keep him company. He makes me smile.
