It's amazing how some things stick in your mind so vivid, more than others, and all it takes is a tiny spark to set off the chain reaction that conjours up a time past. But where do those spirals backwards take you? To a different moment now, and a different path for the future? Whatever that journey, nothing detracts from that single moment. Where time stood still, just for an instance.

This season, We Are Handsome draws on special moments - a catalyst for taking you into the smallest pockets of your imagination and your memory, and lets them play out in the now. We Are Handsome's latest collection "The Memories" imposes beautiful, strong, nostalgic prints on bold, modern but timeless cuts of swimwear - as well as (for the first time) mini dresses and leggings (a wardrobe staple).

Launched from a Sydney base in 2009 by fashion babes Indhra Chagoury (ex Oscar & Elvis) and Jeremy Somers (People Like Us), We Are Handsome is truely Aussie and can be found in the worlds most incredible boutiques, including Opening Ceremony, Colette, Harvey Nichols, plus online (Net-a-Porter.com) to name only a few. Photographed for Vogue, Grazia, Elle, Harpers and worn by some of the worlds most fashion saavy women (including the likes of can-do-no-wrong Diane Kruger and Rachel Bilson) We are Handsome is fashion for the beach and for after.

Copper Spun. Ellery.

In my world, gold can do no wrong. The purest of metals which glimmers and and heals and purifies and balances energy. Gold encourages well being and health. Which is funny. Because copper does exactly the same - calming tiredness and restlessness. Which is what I need going into a five day long weekend. And Kim Ellery sure knows how to transfix you into that mood.

Ellery Spring/Summer 11.12 is a juxtaposition between serene and fierce. Its exudes femininity within its structured lines by utilising flowing fabric. I loved looking at these while being saturated in the sound of Burial, Four Tet and Thom Yorke "Ego". And I want to be saturated in this collection for winter.

Lets hear it for the boys

Apparently the eyes have it. Apparently they tell your whole story in a single gaze. I don't know about that, but I know that if you look at someone long enough you might just realise there is more to them than you figured before. Deep behind the persona, revealed through the layers, peeled away one by one, there may just be someone you've been looking for your whole life.

If you got to see the Martin Schoeller "Close Up" exhibition, lucky you duck. Framed to exclude context, the New York based photographer captures extreme close ups of some of the worlds most famous faces and then captures extreme close ups of some not so well known subjects, rendering each one no less important than the face before. Previously an assistant to Annie Leibovitz, Schollers uninflicted, documentary style photographs celebrate reality by undermining celebrity.

Two little Aussies, sitting in a.... Vogue?! While we're all familiar with the stunningness that is Jess Hart, I mentioned Andrej Pejic to some fashion forward friends the other night who were all a bit like "waaaaht?".

Feeling under the weather and not in the mood for much other than the odd snooze and picture flick help me stumble on old favourite Venice Jewellery. Ethnically inspired pieces that are rare and handmade and similar to nothing else that you'll find around. Death by Dion

There are some things that take my breath away. Dion Lee is consistently one of them. And while the cut out jackets in his CUE:DION LEE range are reminiscent of his 2009 collection I love and want regardless.

Cue - an iconic Australian brand - teamed with Lee (a 24 year old Australian designer inspired, if not obsessed with the construction of clothing) to present an influential capsule collection to Australian women at an affordable price point.

The range is as you'd expect and seen previously with the Target/Goot Target/Stella collaborations. Straight forward, simple, monotone with spritz' of color. Again more his 2009 style that the current hand-dyed/butterfly print collection hitting stores, however the collection does deliver in cut, construction and celebration of simplicity. Settle

November. Almost December. The month of the full moon, the scatter and the wild. Party season. I like party season. I like the sense of arms flung wide, give yourself up, release. I like the empty space that becomes the throb and beat of the party. The heat-wave-shimmer rising from bodies closed in on each other, necks arched, hot panting. When 9pm becomes 6am and you’re wild eyed awake.

I like the Zaror House by Jaime Bendersky Arquitectos. I like the rise of the massive concrete and wood elements that float in balance with the surrounds but that are begging for some damp to be thrown against, and then a cool cheek to be rest down hours later.

58m of windows and glass facing Santiago City, resting against the southern slops of the foothills de Manquehue. Watching the world crawl slowly below, but then opening out to capitalize on the Northern sun, creeping through timber slats, telling you it time. Friday Breath

Once upon a time, over a hill and just up from a beach, was a little yellow house.

And up the giggle inducing, belt-loop dragging driveway, and inside the white door overgrown with vines, and past a lounge room strewn with decks and Rhodes and days old wet washing, stayed a happy little two.

And in their room, that once had a wall mural of clouds but was painted over with steel-blue outdoor paint, were trinkets collected on trips and travels before the two knew (and while).
A vibrant purple imperial orchard in a square, white ceramic vase. A years old amp that taught the two about Kraftwerk and passes and tickets from gigs where fun times were shared. And another white door, that opened onto a damp, rain forest wonderland. Like another world that only the two could sneak into.

It was in the candle lit room, on a winter night, in a winey haze, lying back-to-front on white sheets as they often did, that the boy said 'i love you' for the very first time and the girl knew that he was the right one. Facing each other, looking straight in the eye, the moment was impossibly right.

This Venice Beach house, shot by The Selby reminds me of that time.

Good Goot!!

My love for all things Josh Goot runs deep. And every season I melt on the inside when I see the incredibleness of his designs and prints and those CUTS! Holy! He is the king of complex simplicity. An organic-sentiment of single elements that work together in a holistic way. I place him in my mind bucket with the Zawanda / Annie Trust Fun! Islander Bags (prettiness based on fractal derivatives).

These latest shots from his diffusion line Look Book made me gasp a little. Colour blocking, graffiti hits like paint, lady-like knee length skirts. This is modern dressing at its finest. The freshest of whites are what Summer 10/11 should be so head into Goot Paddington and snap these pieces up before they disappear. (Josh Goot 104 Glenmore Rd, Paddington P: 9356 2233)

Summer is blowing in so, so gently, that it feels time to forget about the year and slip quietly backwards into an ultimate state of quiet. The simplicity of closed eyes, arms open, welcoming the freshness of a new year.

Nothing spells reflection like the environment you're in, and Paul Babera sums that up in a nut shell via his personal work "LOVE LOST" - an ongoing narrative of women in their space. A Melbourne-ite but spreading his love and works between Australia, and Amsterdam (and all that is inbetween), Barbera is an establish interiors and fashion photographer shooing for titles such as Elle Decor, Grazia and Vogue Living

A friend and an idol, PB is just so right. And makes me long for the sojourn skipping close by on the future. *for Guui
