Francoise Nielly (nicely)

Let the truth be known, generally stationary is pretty darn exciting to us. Before Mo sojourned to Euro she was gifted with a pretty pack of artline texters from Ariel Booksellers in The Rocks to fill the Moleskin's full of happy exciting things.

Francoise Nielly manages to combine our love for beautiful engaging art with highlighter fresh hues she projects the images that surround her via painting, photography, roughs, illustrations and virtual, computer generated animated graphics. Each one draws the viewer into her vibrant world. Bringing the colour and lifestyle from an upbringing in the South of France (St Tropez and Cannes), a sense of space from an architect father and the fierceness and fire of being a French women, Nielly manages to engage and excite in a very special way that works well with our love of clean linear space, and abstract bright artistic expression.

Desperately want one of these for a wall… would sure make Christmas a peach.

What's on R V C A

Embodying the modern (Avalon) woman, Erin Watson has brought some sparkle to her 2nd season for RVCA. Free from trends (does that make it a trend?) RVCA combines art, music, fashion and modern lifestyle to inspire a generation to push boundaries.

The driving force? RVCA’s Artist Network Program (ANP) = set up to drive young pups to showcase their talents in an exciting and commercial-not-commercial fashion.

Some of what Erin has to offer below. Pretty.

Ms. Miso

Can't really say that wandering into work on a Monday morning is a favourite thing to do. But opening up an email and seeing some beautiful, creative, inspiring work definitely softens the blow.

Street artist Miso, hailing from Melbourne AUS, has a distinct style that is striking and romantic and defined and fluid all at the same time. Unique in her beautiful approach to representing women from all different walks of life, her work spans drawing, collage, illustration and of course (the most exciting unexpected) street paste-up.

Only a baby - she's 21! - this gem is currently pasting half and halfs across doorways. Inviting the viewer to step in... almost in an Alice In Wonderland -through the looking glass kinda way. In her own words

"I became really obsessed with Russian Constructivists for a while, with the idea of creating art that’s embedded in everyday life and errands. The way a transformed doorway might make a relatively banal task, like walking through a door, seem suddenly a bit more of an event, something that makes a connection, creates a private moment in a public space. I really like that idea."

Check her beautiful site and if you're in Melbourne, look up, or down, or around. Or look on MoHo to see Miso interviewed. Enjoy.

For the love of Flowers

More than anything, flowers get the heart beating faster. The serenity of a white Tuberose place discretely on the table at Tetsuya’s, that will soon see plates of the best and freshest foods to compliment the scene. The smooth petals of a Magnolia fluttering in the spring breeze on a Saturday morning, greeting you as soon as you open your eyes. Orchids, the heady scent of Jonquilles, and the beauty of the old Peony – the hardest but most rewarding flower to grow.

Que Saskia Havekes. Grandiflora’s dame of flower elegance, we love her fresh vibe, and allowance of the unexpected to pop up and make you smile. Flowers in her hair, hanging rather than tabled… seeing one of her creations first thing this Friday makes us think that things are going to be A-Ok. (Grandiflora. 1/12 Macleay Street. Potts Point. NSW 2011. P: (612) 9357 7902 or 9357 7904)

Purchase the book of the very best Saskia has pulled together. Images below as styled by Saskia for LMNOP magazine. Happy Friday our lovely beauties x

Dozing to Dozol

ohhh some days are more than others. Sometimes because the sunlight fills your eyes, the warm pressures your cheeks, the breeze whistles your hair. The smell of summer. Of beautiful days slipping into the quiet, calm of watching the night unfold.

Other days, the innerpersonal cocoon covers you, fills your pores. Blocks out the horrors banging around you. Today was THAT day. Not hung over, but tired, big deep breathes in to remind yourself that the day before that blew you away wasn't a dream, and that tomorrow holds secrets yet to be uncovered and enjoyed.

While feeling the dozy way that today has been, Thomas Dozol has been making us smile with his emotionally grabbing shots. Boyfriend to Michael Stipe, this sweets captures an instant with integrity, and a reality that you only ever see if you're watching. Like really watching...

Auto Featured.

Want to screeeeeam with delight when looking at these shots of the "Deco sofa" designed by Istanbul based Autoban Design Studio, for the Portuguese manufacturer De La Espada.

The Deco sofa, along with other pieces from Autoban and De La Espada, will be officially introduced during the upcoming London Design Festival, September 19th-27th (London Design Festival, 60 Frith Street London W1D 3JJ P: +44(0)20 7734 6444)

Decadent dazzlers

Oooohh how we love a good jewel.. and Stephen Webster certainly delivers.

These puppies are serious sparklers with a signature rock vibe and as flamboyant as the man himself.

Webster renowned for his love of parties and legendary launches has lured legions, including lyrical songstresses Christina Aguilera and Madonna, the self-described "S&M Willy Wonker" Russell Brand and even Mickey Rourke's dog - who sadly passed away shortly after receiving the embellished collar, Mickey famously caused quite a stir when he wore it then himself to the Oscars.

Keep your eyes peeled for these creative delights or the man himself.

Win-chester Woop Woop

Huge love and congrats to our friend Dave Winchester for winning the Ferrol Spain IBA.

Check out his peach line of clothing for the discerning bodyboarder man @ grandflavour.com. No corporate identity, big brand BS, and plenty of unique identity.

We love (almost as much as his beautiful wife Aimee and their sweet cheeked daughter - and soon to be big sister - Coco!)

Enjoy the rest of your Euro holiday lovelies!!! xxx

:esk you

Dear :esk (stop)

It is with great pleasure that we write to you to compliment your label - Modular - on a stella cd in Leave Them All Behind III (stop)

We thoroughly enjoyed the chilled beats of Cd 1 while sipping from a keg, and lounging in Spring sun on 2nd hand couches out the back of Eurobin in Queensy (stop) It was dope (stop)

Many people commented that while the commercial inclusions of Phoenix, Bag Raider (we know it was a given), MGMT and The Presets were to be expected, the happy mix from track 17 - 21 on the first disk was immensely to our likings (stop) This seamless mash tickled us pink and has been discussed numerous times (stop)

While we doubt highly that it will be on the Sth Curl Curl left / Summer Festival bound buses that we frequent, simply because its pretty chilled and not a fun kid special (sorry to those who think Empire of the Sun is simply wonderful), we do believe it is a delightful addition to any CD library and worth listening to while celebrating Summer Sunday Sessions with a sweet crew (stop)

We look forward to the rest of your albums (hope you're not a showbag) arriving on our desks (stop) If we say the words "please" and "boom" together, we figure that should do it (stop)

Peace .: MoHo :.

(p.s. kids - hook that shit up from Modular Store.
(p.p.s. Auturo - think it may have been more than 100 words...)

Top Shhhhh(op)

We're gonna let you in a secret. If you're in the know, you'll also be across this peach store stocking TopShop goodness.

To tempt you well good, we've found some mint pieces that we think Incu should lappy up. But only if we get in first. Boomchacka - these are epic.

Toddy Boy Lovely

Kinda crazy on Todd Selby. We wrote about him previously and while we're a little bummed that we didn't feature in the first Selby Sydney, we're crazy excited that its out... and signed!

The Selby is online based, but has been branched out to include publishing books (there is one for Paris too) featuring the inside of humble creative abodes. The most raw place for a creative mind, the working or inspiring spaces are worth a look, and with only 1000 copies in print (priced at $25) each will be signed and come with a The Selby sticker.

Check out the online store for more details, or (thank you Oz) try before you buy by watching the YouTube flick through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RiTVlhyBCs

Condé says "HOT!"

Designed by architects Rodrigo Cunill and Juana Grichener, Home Hotel (Honduras 5860, Buenos Aires, Argentina p: 00 54 11 4778 1008) is a slice of heaven in Buenos Aires that is on the serious side of lush. Brainchild of London music producer Tom Rixton (you'll have heard this Rixton-produced Tom Vek track for sure!) and his Argentine wife Patricia O'Shea, Home was the first hotel to grace fashionable Palermo and service the sexy, dark crowd that are drawn to the areas many pleasures.

Filled with natural light, custom designed Danish furniture, poured cement sinks, and vintage wallpaper... the cherry on top is the beautiful hardwood floor and decking. Throw in polo (yes the horse kind) clinics, trips to the football, and cocktails by Norman Barone, and you've got yourself an freakin' winner!

Highly Strung

ahhhh... after spending yet another day locked to a computer, listening to an agency play list consisting of torture tunes on repeat (well done and dusted), and forecasting a little heart out for the end of the fin.inst financial year, Fedor is a god-send.

Have no idea where this little lovely is located, or how we can get our hands on our own string garden, but we love it. Especially wonderful for those that live in apartments, or even want to decorate a walkway with something beautiful, Fedor's creative space is a wonderland. Seriously. Every agency should have one of these...
