Being pseudo-blind is very romantic. Everything has that hard-rain-driving-at-night feel that makes the world seem soft focus and slow shutter speed wonderful.And after a few glasses of red wine, in the soft glow of a dimly lit room, it's got an extremely sensual feel, a fluidity that is warm and very insular. A feeling that is only you, in a bubble. It makes you smile.
When, however, I feel the need to be vibrant and alive and switched on, I throw on a pair of Toby glasses. Cheap as, I've been wearing these for almost two years and I love thickness of the frame against my personal natural/boho self style. sunglasses need to have the same feel, and while Cutler and Gross are hard to track down in AUS, SUPER not so much.
Worn by Kanye West, Daft Punk, Who Made Who, Justice, Pedro Winter (and his “Ed Crew”), Simian Mobile Disco, CSS, St. Vincent, The Kills, Elio Fiorucci, Sienna MIller, Jessica Alba and Valentino Rossi, SUPER sunglasses were the first to develop acetate sunglasses (widely copied the world over).The stockists speak for the quality and front foot of the brand (Colette in Paris, Barneys New York, Paris Texas in Denmark etc) but it doesn't take a smart professional buyer to see why these glasses are banging. It also makes perfect sense that the creators of PIG Magazine created the brand.
